Embark on a Mediterranean Voyage with The Jetsetters

Welcome aboard your book club voyage through Amanda Eyre Ward’s The Jetsetters. Charlotte Perkins wins a Mediterranean cruise and invites her three adult children to join her. She’s hoping a little time together might help them reconnect. As the ship sails through Greece, Spain, and Italy, old tensions resurface and long-held secrets come to light, testing their bonds and challenging what family really means.
“It was only recently that she was beginning to admit to herself how much it hurt to have to be fine.”

Menu: The Jetsetters

Get ready for a feast fit for the gods. This Greek-inspired menu follows the sun-drenched stops along their Mediterranean cruise, bringing together a spread that feels fresh, flavorful, and easy to share. From bright salads to grilled favorites and flaky pastries, every dish is a little postcard from the Mediterranean.

Drinks

Before Charlotte set sail, she was sipping Barefoot Chardonnay. Life’s too short, so let’s trade up and bring a little Greek spirit on board the Splendido Marveloso. Pour a glass of crisp, chilled Greek white wine and raise a toast to sun, sea, and second chances. Opa!

Appetizers

The Jetsetters - Appetizer

Kick off your Greek-inspired journey with a spread of classic mezes. You can make your own hummus, dolmas (stuffed grape leaves), and Cookie and Kate’s garlicky tzatziki dip (cucumber yogurt dip), or save a little time by picking up a few ready-made options. To dress up store-bought hummus, drizzle it with good olive oil and sprinkle a little paprika on top. Finish off the table with thick slices of fresh feta (the soft, wet kind), warm pita bread, plenty of olives, and a plate of colorful fresh-cut veggies.

Salad

The Jetsetters - Salad

Bright, fresh, and full of flavor, this modern take on a classic Greek salad from Love and Lemons is perfect for summer. The mint adds a cool, refreshing twist, and the dressing made with olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, dijon, and oregano ties everything together. It’s the kind of salad that disappears fast, so you might want to make a little extra.

Main

The Jetsetters - Main

Set sail with bright, fresh flavors of grilled pork souvlaki from Serious Eats. The pork is marinated overnight in a mix of garlic, onion, oregano, olive oil, and lemon juice, giving it that classic Greek flavor. Serve it hot off the grill with extra tzatziki and warm pita on the side.

Side

Complement the main course with colorful Greek stuffed peppers with feta cheese from Cookin’ Canuck. This Greek twist on classic is cut lengthwise, to save room for what’s next–dessert! The olives and feta bring plenty of salt, so give the filling a taste before adding any extra seasoning.

As we wrap up this Mediterranean meal, it’s time to trade Charlotte’s After Eight dinner mints for something a little more indulgent. Try kourabiedes, the powdered sugar–dusted Greek butter cookies from Cooking For Keeps, or bake a batch of Melomakarona, the soft, honey-soaked cookies from Bigger Bolder Baking. Both are rich with tradition and just sweet enough to leave you dreaming of your next Greek escape.

As you disembark from this flavorful voyage, I hope you and your guests enjoyed a Mediterranean-inspired meal to remember. Here’s to the power of letting go, finding connection, and maybe even a little healing along the way. Live your best life and seas the day!
